Today, I was reminded that time is a gift. Most of my clients have thought about their property purchase or sale as a move forward in their lives. We make a plan to search for the right place, finding a property that can fit our belongings and give us the space we need to share our lives with friends and family and close to the things that are important to us.
What about the moves that don’t fit into our perfect plans? Moving an elderly parent into a senior living home, for example, or a memory care facility, can be more disruptive and stressful than expected. And, there’s more to it than just finding the right location. Who is paying the high monthly fees? There’s a million things to do and you might even live in a differenct city than your parent. So, where do you go from here?
Though every situation is unique, I hope that you have someone in your life to guide you, offer advice and hopefully, share a list of items to consider when making the move for your loved one.
If you need a hand or simply an ear, I’m happy to help.
